Make your own favorite patchadi or try this. Add one ripe tomato, one fresh chili pepper, six curry leaves, a few slices of peeled cucumber, and juice of one lime, salt and pepper to taste and two cups of thick plain yoghurt. Add two tsps of fresh grated coconut if available. A pinch of hing and ¼ tsp of turmeric powder are optional. Blend till smooth. Garnish with a thin wedge of lime.
Patchadi / Yoghurt Dip
I love simple patchadi made in minutes with a blender. Just whisk up some plain yoghurt with your favorite ingredients and, voila!. You have a dip or accompaniment to many meals.
Add all the ingredients in a blender and wish them up till smooth and frothy. Temper mustard seeds, cumin and urad dal in a tbs of sesame oil and garnish if so inclined.
